Microsoft Excel is a member of Microsoft Office family which is a powerful tool that has been developed for accounting, Calculating as well as you can use it for other purposes such as, Saving any company’s data, details, and other info.

In this short Article, today we’re going to learn how to calculate marks percentage & division in excel using a simple formula & trick.


If you have not Microsoft excel installed on your PC then simply download it from the Microsoft official site.

If you have already then first of all, Open excel & follow these steps.

#1 Make a table in Excel by writing student Id, Name etc. You can see in the table below.

#2 Below the Percentage Cell, use this formula: =Marks Obtained/Total Marks*100

#3 Below the Division Cell, use this formula: =if(perc>=80,”1st Division”,if(perc>=60,”2nd Division”,if(perc>=40,”3rd Division”,if(perc<40,”Fail”))))

Remove perc from the formula & use the percentage cell instead of perc.
